August is Children's Eye Health and Safety Month. As you prepare your children for the beginning of the new school year, make sure you're not neglecting their eye health. Many children aren't aware they have a visual problem, since they assume that everyone sees the world the way they do. One in four school-age children have some form of vision problem. Since more than 80% of early learning is visual, it's extremely important to pick up visual problems as early as possible.

Dr. Fishkin has customized his pediatric eye exam to obtain a large amount of information about a child's visual system in a minimum amount of time, and with no discomfort. Most of the time, no eye drops are necessary. Children often look forward to their visits in our office, as they experience the eye exam as a series of "games" they play with the doctor.
